These are estimates, not a promise. Real payouts swing hugely with your niche, audience location, watch time, and whether your account is monetised. Creator-fund rates also change often. Nobody — including us — can guarantee any income. Use this to compare scenarios, not as a forecast.

How creators actually get paid for views

Getting paid “per view” is really a chain of steps: advertisers pay the platform, the platform keeps a share, and only monetised, qualified views count. That’s why two creators with the same view count can earn very different amounts.

CPM vs RPM — the number that matters

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. RPM is what you keep per 1,000 views after the platform’s cut and non-monetised views. RPM is always the honest number for your take-home, and it’s what this calculator uses.

Rough payout ranges (per 1,000 views)

These are broad industry ranges — treat them as ballpark, not gospel:

FormatTypical RPM rangeNotes
TikTok Creator Rewards£0.15 – £0.90Rewards longer, original videos; needs eligibility
YouTube Shorts£0.03 – £0.25Low per-view, but huge reach potential
Instagram Reels£0.00 – £0.20Bonus programs come and go by region
YouTube long-form£1.00 – £8.00+Best per-view; depends heavily on niche

The real lesson: volume × consistency

Per-view rates are mostly out of your control. What you can control is how many quality videos you post and how consistently. Ten thousand views on one video is a nice day; ten thousand views on 30 videos a month is a channel. That’s the whole reason short-form “faceless” creators batch content.

The catch is time — scripting, voicing, editing and captioning every video by hand doesn’t scale. That’s exactly what Reelzy automates: type an idea, and it writes the script, records a natural voiceover, burns in captions and films the scenes — a ready-to-post vertical Short in minutes. More consistent output, without the editing grind.
